Switch Mates are designed to fit most standard Australian light switches and power points. The one thing that matters is depth: as long as your switch has a raised straight side profile deeper than 12mm, a Switch Mate will grip on nicely. Newer slimline switches that sit almost flat against the wall are too thin for the adhesive tabs to grip — this includes ranges like slimline Clipsal Iconic, Clipsal Pro and Hager Allure. If your switch is sleek and sits flush to the wall, it is probably too shallow. When in doubt, send us a photo and we will let you know.

Hold a ruler against the wall beside the switch and check how far the plate sticks out. 12mm or more and you're fine. There are photos of both types on the Fit Guide.

Yes, in most cases. Switch Mates are designed around a standard portrait single switch, which is where they sit best, but they'll go onto multi-gang and landscape-orientation plates too as long as the depth is right. On some plates part of the sculpture will overhang a button. It doesn't stop the switch working, but it's worth knowing before you order. If you're unsure how yours will look, send us a photo of your switch and we'll tell you.

Yes. The same rule applies: if the plate has a raised side profile of at least 12mm, a Switch Mate will sit on it. Australian power point plates are the same physical format as switch plates, so most standard ones work.

Worth thinking about placement, though. Power points are usually lower on the wall and often have something plugged into them, so check your Switch Mate won't sit awkwardly against a cord or a bulky plug. Nothing on the Switch Mate touches the socket openings or interferes with anything you've got plugged in.

Send us a photo of your switch from the front and the side before you buy, and we will tell you if it will work. We would rather help you get it right than have you guess.

Each Switch Mate comes with reusable adhesive tabs already fitted. Just peel off the backing liners, press your Switch Mate onto your switch, and you are done. No tools, no screws, no electrician.

No — and this is the best bit. The adhesive tabs stick to the switch itself, not your wall, so there are no marks on your paint and nothing to patch up. Perfect for renters. They come off cleanly and can be moved whenever you like.

Absolutely not. There is zero electrical work involved. Switch Mates are purely decorative — they sit on top of your existing switch and do not touch any wiring.

Yes. The tabs are reusable, so you can reposition your Switch Mate or take it with you when you move. A bit of personality that is not stuck to the house.

Switch Mates are 3D printed in Australia from PETG, then hand-finished in a clean matte white. We chose PETG over the cheaper PLA most 3D-printed decor uses because it holds its shape at much higher temperatures. PLA starts softening around 60°C, which is achievable on a sunny wall or near a heater. PETG stays stable well beyond that, so your Switch Mate won't sag, warp or lose its detail sitting on a wall through an Australian summer. It's also tougher and less brittle, so it survives being peeled off and moved around. Each one is printed to order and checked before it goes out.

Sizes vary a little by design, and each product page lists its exact dimensions. All Switch Mates are 14mm deep at the base, which is what lets them sit neatly against the wall on a standard switch.

They are made for everyday indoor life and are robust for normal handling. As with any decorative piece, we would avoid heavy knocks. They are designed for indoor use — not for outdoors or steamy bathrooms.

A soft, dry cloth (or a very lightly damp one) is all you need. Skip harsh chemical cleaners and abrasive cloths, which can dull the matte finish over time.

Right now every Switch Mate is matte white, which sits beautifully against standard white switches and any wall colour. We are exploring more colours down the track — join our email list to hear about it first.

We dispatch within 2–4 business days (each Switch Mate is made to order). Australia Post then takes roughly 2–6 business days for metro and 5–10 for regional areas.

Get in touch as soon as you can. We can usually make changes within 24 hours of ordering, but once it has been dispatched we cannot alter it.

Check the Fit Guide first, and message us a photo if you are unsure — we would rather get it right up front. If you ordered in good faith and it genuinely does not fit, contact us and we will sort something out.

Yes — unused items in original condition can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Return postage is at your expense, and refunds are processed within 5 business days of us receiving the item.
